In December 2022, the Natural History launched Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg’s art installation, The Lost Rhino - the first in a new series of contemporary art exhibitions at the museum. Exploring extinction, conservation and technology, the installation brought together four imperfect versions of the rhino, including Ginsberg’s life-size, digital recreation of a northern white rhino.
With high-level, critical press coverage ranging from a major feature in The Observer Magazine to a Critic’s Choice mention from Jonathan Jones in The Guardian, the campaign reached new audiences, bringing more art-savvy visitors through the museum’s doors.
